Dear Esteemed Members of Chaplaincy Pro,
With deep joy and gratitude, we are delighted to share a momentous occasion in the life of our organization and community. On May 24, 2025, in the vibrant heart of Los Angeles, California, Chaplaincy Pro celebrated the official board certification of 23 compassionate and dedicated Spiritual Care providers—the first cohort of Board Certified Chaplains (BCC) to emerge from our growing organization.
This historic gathering marked more than just the certification of professional Chaplains—it was a recognition of their tireless dedication, profound spiritual service, and deep calling to care for others during life’s most vulnerable moments. Among the newly certified were also Board Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Chaplains (BCHPC), who bring sacred presence and healing support to individuals and families navigating serious illness, end-of-life care, and grief.
These 23 individuals have journeyed through intensive training, significant personal sacrifice, and deep spiritual formation. Their certification reflects not only their academic and professional excellence, but also their compassionate hearts and unwavering commitment to serve diverse communities—in hospitals, prisons, hospices, and beyond.
Most are already active in Chaplaincy, bringing light to places of darkness, comfort to those in crisis, and sacred listening to those in need of connection.
This event also celebrated growth and vision for the future. Many current Chaplain Professional Education (CPE) students—including those who have completed one or two units—were present and joined in the celebration. They are working toward completing all four units required for board certification. Their dedication and enthusiasm are a reminder that the future of spiritual care is both vibrant and strong.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Donald Brock and Dr. Barbara Christian, whose visionary leadership and compassionate coordination made this event possible. Their tireless efforts brought this gifted cohort to Chaplaincy Pro and continue to shape the future of our shared mission.
